Who am I?
My name is Justin Nale.  I am a sinner saved by the grace of God.  Since 2004 I have had the great privilege of serving as a pastor to the dear folks at Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC.  I also serve as a director with Classical Conversations, and as a board member of NCHE.  My wife and best friend is Crystal; together we have two boys named Jonathan and Benjamin.
What is Torches and Bonfires about?
The title of this blog comes from the idea that all Christians are called to be a light in this dark world, and together we are able to shine all the more brightly.  One Christian is a torch; when we come together in the context of the local church, we form a bonfire.  The Christian life was not meant to be lived alone, but in the context of a biblically ordered Christian community.  One Christian can stand for God’s truth or share the glories of Christ with others, but it is the local church that is the pillar and buttress of truth, the people of God’s own possession called to proclaim His excellencies to the world.  The purpose of this blog is to provide insights and resources that will help God’s Church scattered or gathered better display the glories of Christ to our world.
